Wedgewood

My goal for this painting was to develop a piece that was heavy in the blue-grey tones typical of Wedgewood ceramics. The piece used a variety of gray and steely blue hues organized according to a geometric pattern into crisp formations that reference the impeccable craftsmanship seen in Wedgewood pieces. The repeated patterns of triangles and squares form a rhythmic grid suggesting both stability and movement. By combining textures and fields, this composition mirrors the refined artistry and technical mastery found in original Wedgewood works, while the abstract format bridges this decorative history with contemporary expression. Overall, the artwork is a meditation on color, heritage, and mathematical beauty to comment on how tradition can be renewed through geometric abstraction.
