I painted this piece thinking of a way to visualize "air". I laid down diagonally-oriented tape in both directions, filled in the holes with acrylic molding paste intentionally leaving the shapes rough, and then painted them with interference colors that look shimmery when viewed from the side. This one you have to see in person to appreciate it. The background is made of at least six different whites.
