Thinking of how to represent "air" on a canvas, I went with horizontal stripes envisioning air flowing. I used many different hues of whites, and also "interference" colors that look shimmery when viewed askew in the light. The painting incorporates impasto (textured) effects, aided by acrylic modeling paste as well as heavy gloss gel.
