Pins and Needles

24 in (diameter) circle,

4/25

This painting is essentially an ombre from white to black laid down in dots of increasing diameter going from the center of a circle to the perimeter. I first painted the canvas with a blend of Titanium White blended on the canvas with Payne’s Grey. Then starting from the perimeter, I stamped sequential rows of circular dots down onto the canvas, working from outside to center. I decided to name the piece “Pins and Needles” because the final piece looked like little nails on end hammered into the canvas.
