This painting incorporates 5 "layers" of ombre greys starting at the periphery of the piece. I tried to unify the painting by mirroring dark and lighter silver shapes laid down with intentional impasto from the center toward each mid-point of the canvas's edge, and filled in the rest with other neutral colors including titanium white and mars black. To finish, I inserted "insets" into some of the larger shapes and stamped on circles of color here and there where I thought they would be effective.
