This is the sister painting to “Melanin Stripes” but instead of arranging the lines in parallel, I put them down in a starburst patter to create a radial explosion of color. The biggest challenge to this one was that the thin parts of the colors nearest the center tended to pull up with the tape, so there were a lot of touchups near the center of the piece. This was one of three paintings I worked on simultaneously since I had many custom colors mixed up and wanted to do a few paintings based on colors of human complexions.
