This painting is made up of dozens of different neutral tones chosen based on their similarity to colors found naturally in human complexions. Each color is laid down in horizontal (or vertical) stripes, depending on the orientation of the actual painting. My intention was to create something lovely using the many different tones and shades of natural human pigmentation. The palette is essentially the same as that of “Pigmentation Explosion”, and it is interesting to see how altering the pattern of stripes changes the feel of the piece between paintings that used almost the exact same colors.
