The pattern is a symmetric geometric grid using straight lines  filled in with various shades of neutrals chosen to represent different human skin tones.  My goal with this piece was to intermix dark colors with light colors reminiscent of human skin complexions to represent how something beautiful can develop when those colors collaborate in unison.
