This piece was an inspiring young woman who had battled cancer since early adolescence. My division played a major part in her care and she and her family are very special to us. She passed away when she was twenty two, but she was a fighter until the end, and what she accomplished in her life was remarkable. At one clinic visit, her mother confided in me how much she liked the color Cerulean Blue. So I made this painting - all in blues - to honor this brave young woman and her family. There are dozens of different blues in the piece, and yes, Cerulean Blue is most certainly in there. The shades of blue are laid down in a gradient effect, to reflect the multifaceted accomplishments, beauty and impact that she made on the world. I will never forget her.
