Cross-section of a River

A friend of mine asked me to paint her something as she moved away from Lexington to another state. After looking over my website, she told me she liked "Land" and also "Water" from the Natural Elements series. So I thought a bit about how to combine these themes, and came up with the idea of a river, complete with a blue sky and the riverbed underneath. My vision for this is a stylized, geometric look at a river flowing left to right, in cross-section.
