This was one of my earliest square symmetric paintings and also one of the first ones in which I incorporated a black-to-white ombre effect. It’s a bit startling because it’s disjointed considering the hot colors in the middle with the edges painted in neutrals. The middle part looks woven to me, and the border reminds me of a Hollywood spotlight. I entered this into a UK HealthCare Employee Art Call, and they asked me whether I’d be interested to donate it for beautifying the hospital (which I agreed to do).
