I wanted to paint a symmetrical piece in greens, teals, golds and blues. I found that outlining some of the lines in black brought out the shape of a central cross in the piece. I added some texture using transparent acrylics by bouncing the brush, which makes those shapes stand out. In the end, I called it “Thinking of Malachite” because its rich hues reminded me of the green mineral that I find so beautiful.
