Sunset Deconstructed

I painted this one as a planned wedding gift for one of my daughter's oldest friends. The bride's favorite color is pink, and the groom's favorite color is orange. A difficult combination in which to get distinction between colors, but as I thought about it, I kept coming back to a blazing sunset, with a yellow sun in a fire-lit sky filled with pinks and oranges. These are the predominant colors of the piece, and I bordered it with reds and then finally browns on the edges, to represent a timeline of sunset from day (the sun in the middle) to night (the darks around the edges). I hope they like it!
