Sunfire Flower

22 in x 22 in,

10/25

I painted this piece in the Fall, influenced by the reds, oranges, yellows and browns of nature this time of year.  My goal for this geometric piece was to use warm colors to  draw the viewer’s focus toward a yellow flower-like core, fringed by oranges and reds and a brown “background” to evoke warmth and energy.  I used interlocking shapes and symmetrical repetition to create a balanced, harmonious design. My hope is that the palette conveys a sense of optimism, with the painting’s heart glowing like a source of light, and the darker, earthy tones at the edges providing stability and rootedness.
