Thinking of the many hues of natural human skin complexion, my goal was to create a pleasing symmetric piece by first laying down a geometric grid of circular shapes and then by inserting "insets" into some of the shapes to add complexity to the piece. The painting is a metaphor of how diverse individuals can come together synergistically and cooperatively to together make something noteworthy.
