I have been a regular contributor to the DanceBlue silent auction in the Fall, and made this painting to be in the auction next year. DanceBlue is a student-run philanthropic organization that raises awareness (and funding) for supporting pediatric oncology programming and patient support at the University of Kentucky where I work as a pediatric hematologist/oncologist. I had already made a UK logo painting for my wife Sarah (who is an avid follower of their women’s volleyball team), and still had the UK stencil. In this version, I decided to make a circle of white that would house the UK logo, and around it I developed a patchwork of complementary blues.
