Denim Daisy

I painted this picture thinking of the colors of our dining room - warm browns and muted blues - colors that my wife and I find appealing together. The grid is mostly all circular arcs, laid down with geometric compasses, with some linear inserts and cross lines thrown in. At least half of the colors are custom-blended to get the right hue, and I added plenty of impasto using transparent, opaque, and metallic paints. I stamped in circular dots of different sizes and tints to complement the piece. Struggling with what to call it, my wife came up with “Denim Daisy”, so that’s how it got its name.
