This is the first painting I've done on a circular canvas, so in keeping with the circular theme, I laid down a grid using only a geometric compass so that there would be no straight lines. I did end up putting in "insets" into some of the larger shapes that do have straight lines, but the theme here is circles. The patterning and color palette reflect the blue and gold colors of the DanceBlue philanthropic organization that supports pediatric hematology/oncology where I work. The final piece reminded me of a kaleidoscope, hence the title. This piece will be donated to the 2025 DanceBlue silent auction in support of our patients.
