This piece is basically a prism in stripes going from magenta to red to orange to yellow to green to teal to blue to purple. With the goal of making this one unique, I decided to add a column of twirled colors as one "stripe" insert for each color family, each one with a dark, medium and light hue of that particular color. I kept track of how many colors I used in the painting. Altogether, I used 150 distinct colors in this piece, which is the most amount of colors I've used for any painting I've done so far. When it was all done, the twirled columns reminded me of a candy cane, so I named this one "Candy Cane Rainbow".
