The Shield

I made this one with a lot of browns, silvers and metallics, all bound by a shield-like rim of neutrals. As it was developing, it reminded me more and more of an ornamental shield from medieval times. This painting served as the inspiration for “All Charged Up” which was a commissioned work I painted for a client who liked “The Shield” but wanted it in the colors and flavor of the LA Chargers football team.
