Rainbow Triangles, Left-Handed

16 in x 20 in

08/2021

I had just had surgery on my dominant (right) hand to repair a torn scapho-lunate ligament (a casualty of a vicious pickleball backhand shot), and thought I would not be able to paint while my hand was essentially locked up in a brace for weeks. But I learned to hold the brush with the left hand, and (very slowly) managed to paint this ombre prism using little triangle shapes to make it look crinkly. For me, this piece is all about overcoming adversity by perseverance.
