Geode

This is one of the largest paintings I've done, and for this one, I chose a color palette of neutrals and golds, with black interiors. I used a relatively broad painter’s type tape to border the shapes (putting the edge of the tape at the edge of the shapes) and applied black in the middle of any shape where the border tape left a space. I then put thin black lines around each shape to highlight them against the white background. This painting took many hours to do! It reminded me of a bunch of geodes, hence the title.
