Having completed "Autumn Flow" in a palette of fall colors, I wanted to do a similar painting in all blues. There are 20 different blues in this piece - a mix of opaque, metallic and transparent acrylics, some brushed on flat and many with intentional impasto. My intention was to create a dynamic representation of flowing water. There are no intentionally straight lines in the piece. Instead, the grid was laid down free-hand and wavy before filling in the blues one by one.
