Eternal Flame

My goal for this painting was to use muted warm colors to create a pattern that resembled a glowing fire.  Its structure revolves around a luminous central star, rendered in yellows and golds, to make a focal point that evokes light and warmth. Surrounding the center are vibrant angular forms in fiery oranges, reds, and crimsons, which appear to ripple outward in symmetrical, rhythmic waves reminiscent of flames or heat. My goal was for the symmetrical design and geometric divisions to create a sense of stability and order, and for the color palette to bring dynamism and passion, as if the hotter middle is continually nourishing itself from the energy at the painting’s edges. Warm hues dominate the inner sections, gradually darkening into browns and muted earth tones towards the corners.
