The goal for this piece was to explore circular geometry more, specifically smaller circles closely knitted together. I started by finding the center of the canvas for central circles. Then I kept adding circles, basing the size on where natural intersections fell as the grid came together. Finally, I added a straight lines to give the piece complexity and interest. I chose the warm colors of the visible spectrum to fill in the grid, starting with yellow for the circles, then outlining them in oranges and reds and finishing the edges with browns. There is symmetry in the piece, but not necessarily fixed at the midline, and as the painting was evolving , it reminded me of a chronograph watch with many little dials giving the time in different parts of the world.
