A Walk in the Woods

This painting was originally done to match a mirror that was outlined in reclaimed wood in shades of teals, blues and natural colors laid down in horizontal slats. I used similar colors as those in the mirror, and the painting is quite complementary to the mirror. I named it “A Walk in the Woods” because many of the colors used were rather like those my family and I have experienced on hikes in the forest and by lakes. Four years later, we decided to donate it to a pediatric oncology charity event, and for that, I added the impasto metallic shapes and the circular dots. A colleague suggested changing the name to “A Walk in the Woods, with a Glass of Champagne”.
