My research has focused on melanocytes, the cells that make light and dark pigments in the skin and hair, and how complexion relates to skin cancer risk.  When national events occurred that highlighted racial injustices in our country, I painted several pieces attempting to make something beautiful out of the various tones of human pigmentation to represent that beauty can be generated when all the hues of complexion work together.
